Are you tired of looking in the mirror and seeing acne? If you are then you’re definitely not alone. A lot of us felt exactly the same way (and some of us still do). But if you don’t know how to get rid of acne, especially on your back, it can seem daunting. The best thing for you to realize is that you don’t have to just deal with it. Even if you feel like you’ve tried everything, there’s always other options.
1. Take a Shower
Whenever you sweat you should always take a shower. If you don’t, you’re allowing that sweat and any dirt or debris that might be on your skin to sit there. That’s a huge problem when it comes to having acne on your back especially. Even if you don’t feel like you’re exerting yourself or exercising you could be causing that acne by not taking care of your skin after a workout. Taking a good shower where you get rid of all the excess is definitely going to help you feel better and it’s going to improve your acne situation (not to mention you’ll probably smell better too).
2. Keep Your Hair Up
If you have long hair it’s really easy for it to touch your back or rest on your back for extended periods of time. While that may not seem like a big deal, the natural oils and grease that get into your hair throughout the day can then get onto your skin. That oil and grease can build up and can clog your pores, creating acne that just doesn’t go away, especially since your hair continues to sit in the same spot, day after day.
3. Exfoliate Your Skin
There are a lot of oil producing glands on your back (which you may not even have known). That means it’s more susceptible to having acne. When you’re not exfoliating and sloughing off some of those skin cells that can clog the pores and keep that oil away, you could end up with acne. The dead skin cells can also irritate acne that’s already there, making it even more difficult for you to relieve the problem. You can use a homemade exfoliant or you can buy something from a store.
4. Keep Your Clothes Loose
Tight-fitting clothes can actually make you sweat more or they can trap sweat onto your skin, which means that it’s irritating the skin even more. You don’t want friction and you don’t want close contact. Instead, you want lightweight cotton and light colors that are going to keep you from sweating as much. This is great advice for all the time, but it’s especially good when you’re going to be working out.
5. Rinse Away Products
If you use conditioner, shampoo, hair gels and sprays and even just body wash you want to keep it off of your back and make sure that you’re washing yourself down as well as possible. Letting these things sit on your back can exacerbate the problem and result in clogged pores and even more acne problems.
